According to the AhlulBayt World Assembly News Portal: <\/strong>The head of the Supreme Council of Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly condemned the recent acts of desecrating Islamic sanctities, saying such moves are part of the West\u2019s psycho war against Muslims. <\/span><\/p>\n

In a statement released on Saturday, Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari said desecration of the Quran and republication of insulting cartoons about the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in some European countries have angered Muslims worldwide and worried free-thinking people globally. <\/span><\/p>\n

He deplored using freedom of speech as justification for insulting others sanctities, describing it as violation of international laws and conventions. <\/span><\/p>\n

The cleric added that such desecrations and racist and Islamophobic measures in some European countries that hurt the feelings of all Muslims cannot be justified. <\/span><\/p>\n

The recurrence of such moves lead one to believe that dangerous plots have been behind these racist behaviors, he said. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ayatollah Akhtari also called on Muslim world bodies to take a decisive stance against desecration of Islamic sanctities. <\/span><\/p>\n

Muslim countries have also strongly condemned recent incidents in Sweden and Norway in which copies of the Holy Quran were desecrated. <\/span><\/p>\n

Last Friday, a copy of the Quran was burned in the city of Malmo by right-wing extremists. <\/span><\/p>\n

A day later, at an anti-Islam protest in Oslo, Norway \u2014 held by the far-right group Stop the Islamization of Norway (SION) \u2014 a protester tore out pages of the Quran and spat on them. <\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier this week, French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo reprinted the insulting cartoons of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), as the trial opened over the subsequent 2015 terror attack on its Paris office.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
