World Assembly at Iran International Conference Center in Tehran, Hojat al-Islam Mohammad Akbari stated, \u201cAfghanistan has been burning in the fire of war for 45 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/ahlulbaytworldassembly.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/AkbariAfghanMember.jpg\" alt=\"AkbariAfghanMember.jpg\" width=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: justify;\">Pointing out that Afghanistan has suffered devastating wars in the past years, the Afghan member of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, \u201cAfter years of colonialism in Afghanistan, NATO and American forces failed and left the country humiliatingly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe Muslim people of Afghanistan did not tolerate the presence of the occupier in their land,\u201d he added, \u201cWith their resistance, the people of our country defeated the Soviet forces in the late 20<sup>th<\/sup> century, and the American forces and its allies in NATO at the early 21<sup>st<\/sup> century.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: justify;\">\u201cDuring the past year, the new government of Afghanistan did not gain power through negotiations, but came to power with weapons,\u201d Akbari noted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: justify;\">\u201cThere are still some unsettled issues in Afghanistan that we hope will be resolved through peaceful negotiation and away from violence. We are expecting the Shia Ulema Council of Afghanistan to provide us with the rightful and legitimate demands of the Afghan Shiite society \u2013 which constitutes more than 20% of the country\u2019s population,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: justify;\">\u201cAfghanistan is still burdened by the destruction of the past 45 years and is suffering from extreme poverty,\u201d said the Afghan member of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.)
