ABWA Official Website \u2013 <\/strong>The opening ceremony of the Conference to Commemorate Grand Ayatollah Mirza Mohammad Taghi Shirazi was held on Saturday, December 10, 2022.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was held in the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.) in Karbala with the large presence of ulama, clerics, national and military figures, chiefs and sheikhs of tribes, researchers, and professors from the universities of Iraq, Iran and a number of other countries of the world.<\/p>\n

The Secretary General of Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.), as the second speaker of the opening ceremony of the \u201cConference Commemorating Mirza Mohammad Taghi Shirazi\u201d, welcomed the participants and appreciated the organizers of the conference.<\/p>\n

Regarding the motivation of holding this conference, Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abayeji said, \u201cIt is our Islamic Sharia obligation to organize such conferences and sessions to commemorate our dignitaries, in order to be inspired by respect, dignity and jihad in the path of values.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe authentic religious, intellectual and ideological heritage of these great ulama is a treasure,\u201d he said, \u201cOne of these dignitaries was Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Taghi Shirazi, who led the great revolution of the Iraqi people with rare courage and sacrificed himself and his children for the religion cause.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, referring to the privileges of Mirza Mohammad Taghi Shirazi, the Secretary-General of Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.) said, \u201cHe was very ascetic and pious. He had such a high level of knowledge that after the demise of the Great Mirza Shirazi, the Najaf Seminary entrusted Marjaiat to him. He was not satisfied only with Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), rather, he was considered an encyclopedia of various scientific and literary disciplines. He trained more than 100 ulama in his teaching school.\u201d<\/p>\n

Referring to the influence of the rhetoric of Mirza, Al-Abayeji stated, \u201cHe succeeded in mobilizing the people against the colonizers and raised their morale with his rhetoric and power of expression, as well as great leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSheikh Mohammad Taghi Shirazi followed the Immaculate Imams (a.s.) in his private and public life. He imitated Imam Ali (a.s.) in piety, Imam Hassan (a.s.) in patience, Imam Hussain (a.s.) in dignity and confronting oppression, and Imam Sajjad (a.s.) in worship. His demise was also similar to the martyrdom of Imam Kazem (a.s.) and Imam Sadeq (a.s.), and like that Imams, he was poisoned by his enemies and martyred,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Comparing the conditions of Mirza Shirazi\u2019s era with today\u2019s conditions, the Secretary General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.) stated, \u201cThe path of fighting colonialism and global arrogance is followed today by Grand Ayatollah Sistani. He emphasizes the defense of Islam, the protection of the independence and territorial integrity of Iraq, as well as the unity of the people.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the end, while expressing his gratitude to all those who participated in holding this conference, Mr. Al-Abayeji said, \u201cI would like to especially thank the Karbala Center for Studies and Research.\u201d<\/p>\n

* The Series of International Conferences for the Revival of the Heritage of the Ulama of Karbala<\/strong><\/p>\n

It should be mentioned that the Commemoration Conference for Ayatollah Mirza Mohammad Taghi Shirazi is the third of the Series of International Conferences for the Revival of the Heritage of the Ulama of Karbala which dedicated to commemorating and revival the works of the ulama of Karbala.<\/p>\n

The organizer of these series of conferences is the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, the Scientific Section of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.). Previously, Karbala Center held the first and second conferences to commemorate Allameh Vahid Behbahani, and great faqih and hadith narrator Ibn Fahd Hilli.<\/p>\n

The title of the 3rd<\/sup> conference of these Series of International Conferences, was \u201cAyatollah Mirza Mohammad Taghi Shirazi – Thoughts and Leadership\u201d, which was held by Research Center of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.) in cooperation with the Shiraz University as partner organizer.<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony of this conference was held in the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.) on Saturday, December 10, 2022, and then, after Maghrib and Isha prayers, researchers from different countries presented their articles in the evening scientific session which was held in Sayed al-Osia Complex.<\/p>\n

On Sunday morning, December 11, 2022, the scientific session continued their activities, and the closing ceremony was held on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n
