ABWA Official Website \u2013<\/strong> On the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (a.s.), the webinar \u201cImam Ali\u2019s (a.s.) Justice\u201d was held in English by the General Directorate of Cyberspace of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.<\/p>\n

In this webinar, Hojat al-Islam Qassem Mohammadi, an expert in religious sciences, gave a speech regarding the just and fair conducts and encounter of Imam Ali (a.s.).<\/p>\n

Pointing out that the dimensions of justice of Imam Ali (a.s.) are very broad, this expert pointed to examples of the Imam\u2019s fair dealings with non-Muslims and minorities.<\/p>\n

Regarding the social justice of Imam Ali (a.s.), he said, \u201cHis social justice included the religious minorities and non-Muslims. In his letter to Malik Ashtar, Imam Ali (a.s.) said, \u201cPeople are of two groups: either they are your religious brothers or your fellow human beings whose human rights must be respected\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

While referring to the economic justice of Imam Ali (a.s.) towards non-Muslims, this religious expert said, \u201cOne day, Imam Ali (a.s.) passed by a poor man and asked, \u201cWhat\u2019s this?\u201d Imam did not ask \u201cWho is this?\u201d Imam meant that why should there be poverty in society? Imam was answered by companions that this person is a Christian man. Imam said, \u201cWhen he was young and working, you didn\u2019t say he was a Christian. Now that he is old and infirm, you say he is a Christian man, and you don\u2019t take care of him?!\u201d Then, he ordered that the Christian man be paid from the Beit al-Mal (Treasury of the Islamic government). Therefore, the first pension in Islam was paid by Imam Ali (a.s.) to a Christian man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regarding the judicial justice of Imam Ali (a.s.) towards non-Muslims, Mohammadi said, \u201cDuring the Caliphate of Imam Ali (a.s.), a Jewish man wrongly claimed that the body armor of that Imam belonged to him. Imam (a.s.) said, \u201cLet\u2019s go to the judge so that he can rule.\u201d That judge wrongly gave the right to the Jew! Based on the judge\u2019s order, the Imam gave his armor to the Jewish man! When that Jewish man came out from the court, he said, \u201cI don\u2019t believe that Imam Ali (a.s.) would come to the judge under his supervision, the judge would issue a verdict by mistake, and the Imam would accept the judge\u2019s verdict!\u201d This caused the Jewish person to return the armor and convert to Islam.\u201d<\/p>\n
