According to the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly News Portal:<\/strong> A group of religious scholars and figures from West Africa met with Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, who has traveled to Senegal at the invitation of local religious leaders.<\/p>\n

Religious Propagation Must Be Up to Date<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking at the gathering, Ayatollah Ramazani stressed, \u201cToday is not the same as yesterday. We must remain up to date. What I want to emphasize is that the responsibility of religious preachers is tremendously heavy.\u201d<\/p>\n

He warned that Islam is being distorted in various ways today, noting, \u201cIn the past, it was the Umayyads and the Abbasids who distorted Islam. Today, this distortion has taken new forms: they are promoting Takfiri Islam, liberal Islam, and secular Islam.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alarming Cases of Religious Distortion in Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

Citing troubling examples from Europe, the Secretary-General said, \u201cIn Berlin, there is a so-called \u2018liberal mosque\u2019 led by a woman who does not observe hijab. Worshippers from all backgrounds, including homosexuals, are encouraged to attend Friday prayers. In London, they perform prayers with English translations and are now omitting the Arabic altogether, claiming prayer is merely symbolic, with no need for Qibla or even the ritual itself. As a result, Salat (prayers), Zakat (almsgiving), and enjoining good are being erased, and religion is being emptied of its core. There\u2019s a narration that says a time will come when nothing remains of religion and evil is promoted as good. That time has arrived, and we must be vigilant.\u201d<\/p>\n

Preachers as Heirs to the Prophet\u2019s (p.b.u.h) Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ayatollah Ramazani also emphasized the pivotal role of preachers, stating, \u201cPreachers hold a vital responsibility. A preacher is the representative of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). The Prophet was a messenger, a guide, and a teacher. He said, \u2018I was sent to spread mercy,\u2019 and this mission of mercy does not conflict with resistance against colonialism.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that during the meeting, West African scholars and religious figures shared several concerns with Ayatollah Ramazani and his delegation. These included the need to support Shiite communities, the lack of resources, and the importance of strengthening Shiite schools, mosques, and institutions across Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
