The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “In the Event of Ashura, holy goals and means, faithful companions and the peak of sacrifice are seen. Many pressures were exerted by the enemy forces and the followers of ignorance, and many events took place in Ashura. These concepts and events can be shown in Ta’zieh.”

On Thursday, July 28, 2022, the closing ceremony of the First International Ta’zieh Mourning Ceremony was held in Tehran Theater Complex with the presence of Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, head of the Ashura International Foundation, cultural officials of Tehran, and senior Ta’zieh performers. In this ceremony, Iranian and international Ta’zieh performers, as well as seniors of this art, were honored.

On Wednesday morning, July 20, 2022, the press conference of “The First International Ta’zieh Mourning Ceremony” was held at the Cultural & Art Organization of Tehran with the presence of Ayatollah Mohammed Hassan Akhtari, chairman of Ashura International Foundation.
12 Ta’zieh performances will be performed by Iranian and international groups in Tehran
On July 26 and 27, 2022, on the eve of the Muharram, in the First International Ta’zieh Mourning Ceremony, 12 performances of Ta’zieh will be performed in Tehran by groups from Nigeria and Iraq and selected Iranian groups.

Stating that Ta’zieh is an artistic performance that can be better understood in other languages, the head of Ashura International Foundation stated, “Ta’zieh is the use of art. Considering the rituals and capacities of the country, we should use art in its comprehensive and real sense to introduce the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school.”
