The Head of the Department of Communications and International Affairs of the Office of the Supreme Leader stated, “We can say that Iran is the only country in the world whose officials, laws and system structure are based on the teachings of the Quran. The chairman of the jury board of the World Prize 114 stated, “Over the past decades, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly has performed Quranic services and honorable works in this regard. The idea of the World Prize 114 was to create a new format for Quranic activities at the international level.”

The winners of the first “World Prize 114” were announced in two sections: Quranic institutes and centers, and Quranic preachers. Two ever-lasing figures were also honored.

The closing ceremony of the first “World Prize 114” was held on evening of Monday, August 9, 2021 in face-to face and virtually in full compliance with health protocols due to Covid-19 in the conference hall of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Qom. In this ceremony, 14 selected persons and works were appreciated in the category of the Quranic institutes and centers, as well as Quranic preachers and activists. The late Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri and Ayatollah Mohammad Saeed Al-No’mani were also honored for their services in Tafsir and promoting the Holy Quran. The call for the first “World Prize 114” was announced by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly during the holy month of Ramadan last year (1442 AH – 2021 AD). The competition dedicated to praise the best missionaries, works and Quranic activities of Shiites around the world.

The Secretary of the “World Prize 114” stated, “With the least public announcement, and in less than four months, more than 500 works were submitted to the Prize Secretariat, many of which were valuable works.”
